Ingredients
2 apples1 Frozen Puff Pastry
¼ cup Copra’s Coconut Nectar
¼ powdered sugar
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
A handful of flour
Instructions
Step 1. Rinse the apples and slice them in half. Core the apples, then slice them into thin, half-moon pieces.
Step 2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sliced apples with enough water to cover them and add the lemon juice. Microwave for 3 minutes to soften the slices, making them pliable for folding. Drain and set aside to cool.
Step 3. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry. Sprinkle the top of the pastry with flour to prevent sticking. Cut the pastry into long rectangular strips, approximately 2 inches wide.
Step 4. Preheat the oven to 365°F (185°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 5. Arrange the softened apple slices along one edge of each pastry strip, slightly overlapping them, with the rounded edges sticking out slightly over the top edge. Fold the bottom half of the pastry strip over the bottom of the apple slices, creating a pocket-like fold.
Step 6. Lightly brush the folded pastry with Copra’s Coconut Nectar. Starting from one end, roll the pastry strip carefully to form a rose shape. Place the rolled roses onto the prepared baking tray.
Step 7. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow the apple roses to cool slightly.
Step 8. Dust the apple roses with powdered sugar for a finishing touch. Serve and enjoy your delicate Apple Rose pastries!
