Is Coconut Water Good For Your Skin?

Is coconut water good for your skin? We’re in the modern day of beauty, but it’s time to get back to basics. Simple lifestyle choices, like eating a healthy diet, drinking tons of water and taking your vitamins, are not innovative or particularly sexy. In fact, they can be quickly forgotten when confronted with the cornucopia of beautifully branded beauty products on the market, when in fact they’re the easiest (and cheapest!) way to make you look and feel great. We’ve done some research to reveal that a healthy diet is where the real beauty begins.

Starting with our largest organ, our skin

The skin is our largest organ - each adult carries about 8 pounds and 22 square feet of it! It acts as a protective barrier to defend our bodies from harmful elements like environmental toxins and pollutants, viruses and harmful bacteria. When it comes to letting you know what food serves you, your skin may be your most transparent relationship. So transparent that in the matter of hours, you’ll see it in the mirror. For example, regular consumption of sugar breaks down elastin and collagen, over time leading to breakouts. Help your skin to do its job (and glow!) by balancing a healthy diet.

Hydration vs. Skin Moisture

Hydration goes hand-in-hand with skin moisture. They are two different components that work together to help you glow.

Hydration improves your skin’s ability to absorb moisture and nutrients. Moisturizing is about trapping and sealing in moisture to build the skin’s protective barrier, prevent water loss and keep skin soft and smooth.

Your skin cells need to be hydrated in order to absorb moisture from your skin care regimen. If your skin is dry or overly oily, there are quick fixes like masks and facials that can temporarily try to balance your tendency. However, if your body is not balanced and hydrated from the inside out, which can only be accomplished by giving your body a healthy balance of nutritious food, enough water and nutrients such as electrolytes to nourish itself, the glowing results from the mask or facial can turn into a short-lived quick fix.

Eat Beautiful

The truth is you don’t need fancy masks, facials, and skincare products to have glowing skin. Save the money and time from an ever expanding skincare regimen and hydrate from the inside out. Figuratively speaking, invest in food you’d feel comfortable smearing on your face, morning and night.
